Hiking & Mountain Biking – Easy access to miles of trails throughout Angel Fire and the surrounding Carson National Forest.

No, we do not allow pets. This is our family vacation home, and some family members have pet allergies. We work to keep it comfortable for both our family and our guests. Thank you for understanding!

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Before arrival, you'll receive a personalized smart-lock code for the main entrance so you can check yourself in.

The driveway has parking for mulitiple vehicles and space to turn around. Back into the two spaces in front of the garage bay doors to take advantage of the concrete unloading area and walkway to the lower deck.
The garage is reserved for guest amenities and is not available for vehicle parking.

Yes. Covered exterior stairs lead to the main living area, and interior stairs connect the main level to the upper level.

Wildlife is one of the things guests love most about Bear Necessities Lodge. While sightings are never guaranteed, mule deer visit the property almost daily, and elk, wild turkeys, rabbits, and hummingbirds are seen regularly throughout the warmer months. Black bears occasionally pass through the greenbelt behind the lodge during late spring to fall, and lucky guests have even spotted rare coyotes, mountain lions, and bobcats. We ask all guests to enjoy wildlife from a safe distance and never feed or approach wild animals.

Yes! Every season offers something unique—from skiing and snowboarding in winter to mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golf, wildlife watching, and festivals throughout spring, summer, and fall.

AWD or 4WD is required during snow or icy conditions. Roads are regularly maintained, but mountain weather can change quickly. After approximately 4 inches of snowfall, the Village plows the roads and our driveway is professionally plowed.

Yes. During the warmer months, the living area features a seasonal window A/C unit, and ceiling fans are located throughout the home to keep guests comfortable.
